Beyond simply heading SoBe’s celebrated Bazaar by José Andrés as Chef de Cuisine, Karla Hoyos cooks as an act of social justice too. This Chef-turned-relief-worker travelled to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria & literally fed tens of thousands through Andrés’ World Central Kitchen. As highlighted in the new book, “We Fed An Island,” Hoyos approaches cooking as an act of love.
Most recently, along with SLS Hotel’s Executive Pastry Chef, Jason Morale, both Chefs lovingly fed hundreds at Camillus House via local grassroots group, Recipes For Change. These benevolent & globally recognized Chefs will be donating their time once again, cooking for 40 guests at our latest Farm Table Dinner, “Bazaar on the Farm.”
Guests can expect a whimsical menu with nods to Andrés’ Spanish heritage, Hoyos’ Mexican roots, set against Miami’s local culinary traditions, brimming with Harpke Family Farm’s autumnal produce. Morale will deftly complete the meal on a sweet note, while Harpke will apply his extensive wine knowledge, providing fine-wine-pairings throughout the meal, completing a uniquely South Florida farm-to-table dining experience.
